NGA U17 3-3 GER U17

FIFA 2009 Under-17 World Cup logoNigeria produced a stunning fightback to claim a draw in the tournament that they are hosting. Goals from Thy (21′), Mustafi (39′), and Gotze (47′), were cancelled out in a seven-minute flurry from Okoro (54′ (p)), Omeruo (59′), and Egbedi (61′) gave the hosts reward for their efforts.

It was the second time that the two nations have met within a couple of weeks with the German Under-20′s claiming a 3-2 win that time around.

The Under-17 World Cup is a bi-annual tournament, and allows the chance for the best up-and-coming players to showcase their talents. The current holders are the Nigerians, who beat Spain on penalties in 2007 in South Korea.
