LIVERPOOL 2-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Liverpool have hit back from their losing streak to move to just four points away from Manchester United after this victory over their intense rivals.
The decision to put Fernando Torres in the team proved to be a fruitful one from the manager Rafael Benitez, as it was the Spaniard’s goal (65′) which was the key separator against a below-par United. Vidic and Mascherano were sent off for either side in injury time, and a counter-attack allowed David N’Gog to seal the triumph minutes later (90+6′).
Various decisions during the match sparked Sir Alex Ferguson to have another rant at the officials (this time on the touchline), but this did not hide Liverpool’s superiority in the game.
