The three British teams left in the Europa League discovered their respective fates in the group stage draw today. Celtic are considered to have one of the tougher groups, playing Hamburg, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Rapid Vienna, the latter defeating Aston Villa to get to this stage. Fulham are given a lucrative tie against Roma in Group E, along with Basel and CSKA Sofia, while Everton face Benfica, AEK Athens, and BATE Borisov.
Each team will play the other three twice, in a home-and-away format, with the 6-game group stage being played between 17th September and 17th December. The top two in each of the 12 groups advance to the knockout rounds.
